SUPERVISED BY: Director and Assistant Director of Student Services and Building Principals WORKS WITH: Students, Parents, Teachers, Administration, Community Stakeholders QUALIFICATIONS: 1. The candidate demonstrates excellent verbal, non-verbal, and written communication skills across all interactions.2. The candidate must possess a Vermont Educator’s license in School Counseling or a related and acceptable endorsement area, or be determined eligible for such, subject to all federal and state licensure regulations.3. The candidate must pass all district and state-required fingerprinting and criminal record-check processes.4. The candidate demonstrates the ability to provide both 1:1 and small-group counseling services to students aged 3-21 with an IEP or 504 Plan, though the candidate’s primary focus will be on the delivery of counseling services provided to students in grades 7-12.5. The candidate demonstrates the ability to collaborate with educational teams to set appropriate social, emotional, and behavioral goals to address the educational and functional needs of students with disabilities. 6. The candidate demonstrates the ability to use high-quality, evidence-based, data-driven practices to monitor and evaluate student progress towards counseling goals.7. The candidate possesses a knowledge and familiarity with the Vermont Special Education Regulations and Section 504 Regulations.8. The candidate possesses the ability to conduct risk and threat assessments and to assist educational teams in developing treatment plans to meet the needs of students with disabilities. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Provide 1:1 and/or small-group counseling services to students with disabilities, as assigned.2. Collaborate with educational teams to identify appropriate school-counseling goals to meet the needs of students on the assigned caseload.3. Attend and participate in special education and Section 504 meetings for students on the assigned caseload.4. Engage in regular, ongoing, and proactive communication with students, families, and staff.5. Engage in progress-monitoring practices in order to monitor and evaluate student progress towards counseling-related goals.6. Administer risk and threat assessments to students with disabilities, and assist in the development of treatment plans, as assigned.7. Other responsibilities as assigned by the Administration.
