Job Purpose:
This position is responsible for managing a team of HR Business Partners responsible for supporting the needs of the business and driving appropriate HR solutions. The position is also responsible for shaping the company’s work and employee policies for both union and non-union teams.
Essential Functions:
Manage and train a team of HR professionals
Serve as a trusted business partner on all matters including:
Strategic planning/organizational design
Employee and management development
Employee & Labor Relations matters
Rewards and recognition programs
Career development and succession planning
Link HR initiatives to business strategy and effectively communicate and promote HR and business strategy to all levels of the organization
Develop and execute HR Programs to satisfy organizational requirements
Anticipate, investigate and remediate employee and labor relations issues, building strong programs to support and build a positive employee culture
Support leaders to establish training plans and create and deliver training on HR related topics as needed
Lead by example with unquestioned credibility, judgment, character and ethics
Ensure HR team addresses employees' requests and grievances in a timely manner
Stay up to date and ensure company compliance on all HR related regulations and requirements
Education:
Four years of College resulting in a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
Certifications, Accreditations, Licenses:
HR-related certification (e.g., PHR, SPHR) preferred
Relevant Work Experience:
8 to 10 years in related field
Proven work experience as a Senior HR Manager or similar role
Experience working in a union environment is a plus.
5 years’ experience in a leadership role.
Special Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Thorough understanding and experience of HR processes and functions
Thorough knowledge of and experience with regulatory requirements related to HR
Demonstrated competency in strategic planning and organizational design
Strong customer relationship orientation
Ability to maintain appropriate confidentiality
Highly developed research, project management and change management skills
Demonstrated ability to successfully interact with and influence peers and management through consultation/coaching
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills
Ability to give and receive constructive feedback
Strong leadership skills
Hands-on experience with Human Resources Management Software (including payroll systems and ATS)
Supervisory Responsibility:
Manages a team of managers and HR business partners
