Estimators interact with our clients early in the project development process and play a key role in our success. Estimators leverage their knowledge and, more importantly, continuous learning of construction trades to deliver accurate cost proposals for various types of projects. Estimators help develop project design solutions. An analytical mindset and managing client/contractor relationships with professionalism are vital. The goal is to interpret our client’s ideas, directions, and architectural designs and create comprehensive construction solutions with accurate cost estimates to win projects that will increase our profitability and growth.
College and a construction estimating background is recommended, however we will consider all levels of experience. We are looking for the right individual to join our team and grow with us!
The following is a list of some skills and responsibilities in this role: Plan reading ability for all construction trades.
Bluebeam Revu Software for take-offs.
Microsoft Excel to create estimates.
Microsoft Project to create construction schedules.
Understand, carefully review, and interpret construction plans and other bid documents provided by client to identify/create scope of work for each trade.
Effective communication of complex and detailed information to clients/subcontractors.
Arrange site visits with clients/subcontractors to assess construction needs and take measurements/photos of site conditions.
Professional email etiquette sending bid requests and proposal submissions.
Research and contact vendors and suppliers to source materials and obtain pricing.
Review and understand subcontractor proposals and identify scope gaps and risk exposure.
Creation of design-build construction solutions.
Draw and create design solutions using Bluebeam.
Dependability and sense of urgency.
Great time management and prioritization to work multiple assignments simultaneously.
Willing approach to learning and adjusting methods.
Systematic and analytical approach to evaluating project information.
Experience using math/algebra with Excel is helpful.
