We are currently hiring for 2 production supervisors for 12 hour shifts.One opening is in the day shift and the other is for the night shift!
PURPOSE:
The Production Supervisor oversees and coordinates union personnel across various departments involved in manufacturing and assembling automotive parts, specifically timing chain system components.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The core duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Direct, coordinate, train, coach, and supervise daily activities of assigned employees involved in the production process, ensuring all safety, quality, delivery, productivity, and labor utilization goals are met.
- Ensure efficient daily material flow through the department by effectively utilizing manpower and equipment.
- Develop and implement continuous improvement plans for equipment and the overall department.
- Monitor and manage the yearly budget for the department, aiming to meet goals by reducing costs related to production and MRO supplies.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with associated departments such as Planning, Engineering, and Quality.
- Maintain effective communication through toolbox meetings and employee meetings.
- Understand, communicate, and follow all company policies, work rules, and Union Contract provisions. Use this knowledge to:
- Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in resolving issues.
- Maintain accurate time and attendance records.
- Collaborate with Group Leaders and employees to coordinate departmental activities.
- Ensure department inventory accuracy.
- Make daily decisions on production schedules and personnel matters affecting delivery and quality.
- Supervisors are expected to work to a high ethical standard and consistently comply with all company policies, work rules, Union Contractual agreements, and applicable laws with minimal supervision.
- Must be able to work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd Shift, depending on current operational needs.
- Bachelor's Degree Preferred but Not Required
- 3 Years of Automotive Manufacturing Experience; 5-7 years of Supervisory experience, especially in heat treating, metal finishing, or working with metals is preferred.
- Demonstrable knowledge and experience in Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, and ISO procedures are required.
