RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client in Chicago, IL that is seeking a Wireless Network Engineer.
Summary:
As a key member of the Tech Ops Infrastructure Engineering team, the Wireless Network Engineer will fill a critical role supporting the transformation of wireless networking systems and solutions across ADM, and subsequent ongoing continuous improvement. The role will suit an individual who enjoys working collaboratively with Engineers and Architects to create holistic solutions incorporating a wide range of systems and technologies, and who is able to bring creativity to the solutioning process.
Responsibilities:
* Create wireless network engineering solutions and designs within defined standards, or proposing new standards when required, ensuring that designs work holistically within larger solutions
* In close collaboration with cross functional architecture teams, develop strategies and roadmaps which support the introduction and continuous improvement of next generation wireless network and control systems across all areas
* Actively develop Software Defined Wireless Networking models and introduce automation solutions across Wireless platforms
* Work closely with the Networking Operations teams to introduce AiNetOps into existing wireless network platforms and future wireless platforms
* Design roadmap implementation projects, communicating with stakeholders and operations teams to ensure delivery
* Maintain a good awareness of Operations activities through regular communication with operations leads and by attending update meetings
* Create build instructions for engineering designs, and support operations teams during implementation
* Undertake requirements analysis of incoming requests ensuring deliverables are clearly understood and agreed with stakeholders
REQUIREMENTS:
* CWDP or CWNE certification
* Extensive experience of working with stakeholders to define requirements, select technologies, design, and introduce innovative, performant, and scalable wireless solutions
* Experience of integrating automation technologies with a broad range of monitoring tools and introducing AiNetOps solutions
* Extensive experience of defining the requirements of wireless surveys in all the previously defined environments, and subsequently understand and utilizing the results in new solution designs
* Experience of creating technology roadmaps based on strategy inputs
* Experience of working with radio vendors to design and implement management and monitoring services
* Ability to carry out requirements analysis and create detailed engineering solution designs using Visio
* Experience in providing engineering expertise to Operations teams in support of incident and request resolution
* Ability to create low level implementation and build documentation
Strong knowledge and demonstrable experience of wireless networking technologies and standards, and global wireless implementations
* WiFi, Cellular, Public and Private LTE
* Mesh networks including Cloud managed solutions
* Wireless Intrusion Detection and Prevention Systems (WIDS, WIPS)
* In depth Routing & Switching (L2/L3 connectivity)
* Routing Protocols (BGP, OSPF, IS-IS)
* In depth Routing & Switching (L2/L3 connectivity)
* Firewall Management (policies/rules/security zones)
* Identity & Access Management
* VPN configuration
* DNS/DHCP
Extensive experience of implementing and developing Next Gen Software Defined Wireless Networking platforms and Network Automation, including provisioning and administration activities using automation technologies within the following environments:
* Industrial & Manufacturing (working closely with IT/OT plant support teams to understand and meet requirements)
* Office & Campus
* Indoor & Outdoor
* High density
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
