Quality Supervisor
Position Overview:
Supervises day-to-day operations of product quality and Quality Inspectors. Provides assistance to the Quality Manager as needed. Develop Inspectors, as appropriate within the department, supervise and ensure completion of all duties departmental employees are responsible for. Monitors and maintains the quality assurance and control systems of the company to ensure the proper execution of products and customer satisfaction.
Job Responsibilities:
  • Under the direction of the Quality Manager, implements and manages quality policies, practices, and procedures.
  • Provide guidance and direction to Lead Inspectors and Inspectors.
  • Audits and analyzes process procedures as practiced in-house to assure performance to specifications.
  • Gathers, documents, and maintains job information per QMS Procedures.
  • Answer, document, and maintain contact with customer/interested parties, as necessary, regarding complaints, concerns, or issues.
  • Maintain QMS in accordance with ISO9001 Quality Standard.
  • Monitor CCI (Concern, CAR, Improvement) progress; complete/assist w/completion of internal/received external CAR’s.
  • Maintain contact with sales, program/project managers to assist with/complete First Articles, PPAP submissions, injection mold dimensional layouts, and with their input of data the completion of any customer mandated forms.
  • Perform periodic internal audits, as scheduled. Aid/guide 3rd party auditors.
  • Issue verbal/written instructions or directions, assign duties, when necessary, examine work for exactness, neatness, and conformance to policies, procedures and customer requirements.
  • Complete scheduled calibrations on the required measurement tools, as required.
  • Assist with the collection of and data entry for management review.
  • Supervise, motivate, and develop assigned area personnel.
  • Strong ability to train and engage employees.
Skills:
  • Supervisory Experience: leadership ability, decision maker, attention to details, meet deadlines.
  • Independent; self-motivated/confident, team-orientated, can follow instructions, good attendance.
  • Experienced with ISO standards; quality management systems, document/record control, internal/ external auditing (ISO standards, housekeeping, conformance, 3rd party), calibration.
  • Knowledge of Customer Requirements; 1st articles, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans, Flow Charts, Cap Studies, PSO, Run @ Rate, 7-Step, 8-D’s, MSA, Gage R & R, SPC, approval processes.
  • Inspection Skills: print reading, use of measurement tools, detecting defects.
  • Communication Skills: customer service skills, present information (to large groups when required).
  • Understanding of tools required to produce product.
  • PC Skills; Word, Excel, Email, Internet, networking awareness.
  • Education Requirement: Associate Degree Required, Bachelor’s Degree Preferred.
  • Years’ experience working within a Quality Department role: 5 years, Preferred 3 years of leadership or supervisory role.
Abilities:
  • Speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Stand, Walk, and reach with arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull items up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
  • Basic Math: count, add, and subtract.
  • Operate Office Machines & Equipment. Competent with MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
