Position: Finance & Procurement Systems Analyst

Duration: 6 month contract

Location: Chesapeake, VA (Hybrid must be local)

Education: At least a bachelor s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Software/Electronics Engineering, Information Systems, or a closely related field is required.

Job Description:

• Assess current business processes and system capabilities, pinpointing opportunities and examining potential solutions to align with business goals and objectives.
• Generate business requirements by conducting interviews, workshops, surveys, and analyzing documents to articulate the business needs accurately.
• Evaluate information sourced from various channels and resolve any conflicts that arise.
• Differentiate between user requests and the genuine underlying requirements.
• Document existing and future processes utilizing cross-functional flow charts, swim lanes, process map diagrams, and other relevant supporting materials.
• Validate discoveries and secure approval from key stakeholders.
• Aid Project Managers in developing project charters, estimates, plans, and conducting business impact analyses.
• Collaborate with both internal and external development teams to ensure that solutions deliver the expected business outcomes.
• Support Quality Assurance teams by defining and executing test plans, coordinating user acceptance testing, and ensuring that the solution meets requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with training teams to ensure smooth rollouts.
• Address issues during project deployments as they arise.
• Act as a subject matter expert for assigned business functions.
• Exhibit strong teamwork skills, fostering positive and collaborative relationships.
• Possess keen attention to detail, along with analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Demonstrate initiative and a sense of urgency, working diligently to achieve results and meet deadlines in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment.
• Capable of working autonomously, managing multiple initiatives concurrently, and successfully driving them to completion.

Requirements:

• Capability to be present on-site in Chesapeake when necessary
• Familiarity with environments typical of Financial/Accounting Systems
• Over 5 years of experience as a Senior Business Systems Analyst
• Proficient in the MS Office suite, including MS Visio
• Experience with the Software Development Lifecycle
• Advanced proficiency in oral and written communication
• Strong facilitation abilities
• Working understanding of SQL, as well as system interface tools (such as APIs) and file transfer
