United Methodist Retirement Communities is Hiring a Cook-Part Time Near Chelsea, MI

 

Salary Range: $17.00 to $20.50

Status: Non-Exempt, Part-Time 16-29 hours

Shift: Hours will vary between 11am-8pm

Schedule: Monday-Friday various days, every 3rd weekend off and holiday rotation

The Cook prepares wholesome and delicious meals in our scratch kitchen for older adults while bringing smiles to their faces through food.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare and cook a variety of nutritious meals for residents
  • Collaborate with our team to create healthy and flavorful dishes
  • Cater to special dietary requirements and restrictions
  • Ensure all food is prepared to the highest standards of quality and presentation

What it takes

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age
  • HS Diploma/ GED required
  • Culinary Education Preferred, not required
  • ServSafe Certification Preferred, not required
  • Prior experience in a professional kitchen as a cook, line cook, or prep cook in the food service industry, 1-2 years required.
  • Ability to participate in frequent stooping and bending, lifting up to fifty (50) pounds
