Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) 

Job Summary: Assess, treat, and care for patients with breathing disorders. Assume primary responsibility for all respiratory care modalities, including the supervision of respiratory therapy technicians. Initiate and conduct therapeutic procedures; maintain patient records; and select, assemble, check, and operate equipment.

(This is a part time position will support our Pulmonology Team Thursdays & Friday 7:30 am to 4:30 pm)

Primary Job Responsibilities:

• Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
• Consult with physicians to develop patient treatment plans.
• Perform diagnostic tests such as measuring lung capacity and pulmonary testing.
• Treat patients by using a variety of methods, including chest physiotherapy and aerosol medications.
• Monitor and record the progress of treatment.
• Teach patients how to use treatments.
• Work at different Tryon office locations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Education and Certifications:

• Minimum of an Associate degree. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner required.
• Maintain American Heart Association BLS or American Red Cross certification. Maintain Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification (ACLS) if role requires.
• Completion of Hepatitis B Vaccine and Flu Vaccine Form will be required. Candidate may decline vaccination through declination form or may provide record of vaccination from previous employer.
• Completion of TB test will be required.

Experience:

• At least two years of related experience.

Physical Requirements:

• Work consistently requires walking, standing, sitting, lifting, reaching, stooping, bending, pushing, and pulling.
• Must be able to lift and support weight of 35 pounds.
• Ability to concentrate on details.
• Use of computer for long periods of time.
