West Virginia Tourism Office is Hiring an Accounting Coordinator Near Charleston, WV

The West Virginia Department of Tourism is seeking an Accounting Coordinator to assist on the Finance and Administration team. This individual would carry out both accounting and administrative roles and would report directly to the Director of Administration.

Sample Duties

  • Preparing and processing Requests for Quotations and Requests for Proposals
  • Processing employee requests for goods and services and placing orders, as needed
  • Contracting and communication with vendors and potential vendors
  • Receiving and tracking project estimates and media authorizations and create purchase orders
  • Maintaining accurate product inventory
  • Serving as a travel coordinator who is responsible for booking, reconciling and processing transactions on state travel cards
  • Completing other administrative duties as assigned
  • Other accounting duties as assigned, including but not limited to:

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Organized, detail-oriented and excellent time management skills
  • Strong ability to multitask
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures
  • Ability to take ownership over projects and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work collaboratively with different teams and independently
  • Flexible with changing priorities
  • Ability to travel occasionally for conferences and seminars
  • Proficiency in on wvOASIS or similar enterprise accounting software strongly preferred
  • Experience and/or interest in learning new data tools and software
  • Proficiency in in Adobe Acrobat, Google Sheets, Google Docs and PowerPoint

The successful candidate will have experience in administrative work, working with vendors to collect quotes and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Preference will be given to candidates with an associate’s degree or further education. State procurement is not required but highly preferred.

This position is located at the capitol in Charleston and works full-time, regular business hours. Competitive pay and benefits. Remote work is not permitted. Limited travel required.
