Advantage Technology is Hiring a Lead Cabling Technician Near Charleston, WV
Job DescriptionAdvantage Technology is seeking a Lead Cabling Technician minimum of Three to Four years of experience installing copper and fiber optic, including the ability to terminate, test and splice fiber. Must have equivalent skills installing CAT5 and CAT6 cable; must be able to route, terminate, test, and build-out server rooms and data centers. This position will be out of our Charleston office and will work in the surrounding areas.
This individual must be able to work on jobs with 50 to 500 drops and have good communication skills, both verbally and in written form.
Experience with camera systems and access controls is a plus.

Responsibilities
- Terminate, label, and test a variety of different manufactures connectivity hardware. (i.e. jacks, patch panels, 110 blocks, 66 blocks, RG6, RG11, Splitters).
- Installation of cable pathway development, raceway and attachments.
- Fiber Networks and Backbones.
- Installation, termination and certification of all low-voltage copper cabling.
- Perform fiber optic cable terminations and testing.
- Construction of communication closets. (i.e.: equipment racks, ladder rack, trough, shelving, cabinets).
- Installation of voice lines to various types of phone equipment.
- Install Fire stops.
- Strong understanding of proper attachment hardware, mounting procedures and raceway construction. (i.e.: Panduit, Wiremold).
- Ability to work flexible hours, i.e., weekends or late afternoons and evenings.
- Must be able to provide your own basic working toolkit.
- Work well in a team environment, and work side-by-side with the client.
- Pre-employment and random drug and background check.
- Complete and submit paperwork accurately and daily.
- Must be a team player.
- Salary will be determined based upon experience and certifications.
- Strong work ethic; punctuality and attendance.
- Maintain the company’s high standard of quality and professionalism with regards to workmanship, customer relations, coworkers, behavior and appearance.
- Ability to lift at least 50 pounds as necessary.
