Bosch Charleston Plant is Hiring a Controls Engineer Near Charleston, SC

MAU is hiring a Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer for Robert Bosch in Charleston, SC. As a Manufacturing Maintenance Engineer, you will act as the driver in manufacturing operations by coordinating maintenance resources such as spare parts, Preventive/Predictive maintenance, proactive Condition Based Maintenance, line downtime, and technician training to maintain a good working operation of our assembly lines. This is a direct hire opportunity.

The Bosch plant has manufactured high-quality automotive products at the Charleston, SC facility for over 30 years. Our associates will run state-of-the-art automatic production equipment and technology in a clean, climate-controlled environment. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering
  • 3 years of experience in manufacturing
  • Experience load-balancing resources for preventative maintenance tasks
  • Experience managing long-term projects
  • Experience being involved in layout creation and project budgeting
  • Experience in Microsoft Office and advanced use of Excel functions (VLOOKUP, STDEV, etc.)

General Requirements:

  • Ability to work on cross-function teams with a high degree of self-initiative
  • Ability to read and modify tooling blueprints and design changes/improvements using CAD tools (Solid Works, AutoCAD)

Essential Functions:

  • Directly support the assembly lines by troubleshooting components using various analytical techniques
  • Manage long-term projects for facility installations
  • Develop spare parts lists for new ESP10 equipment and manage the project to ensure parts are established in SAP, sources, and on-hand before “Ready for Production”
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance plans for ESP10, using best practices from ESP9 and benchmarking from IPN plants
  • Act as a primary line of support for TPM scheduling functions
  • Understand and optimize spare parts pipelines and storage
  • Guide hourly personnel on the execution of PM (Preventive/Predictive Maintenance) tasks
  • Participate and lead projects focused on OEE (Overall Equipment Effectiveness) improvement and machine stability
  • Demonstrate self-initiative by generating new projects by suggesting improvements and managing workload
  • Become a subject matter expert for certain topics (compressors, environmental monitoring, vacuum pumps, force transducers, conveyors, robots, vibratory systems)
  • Lead daily management of area using MES and other analytics/data to meet targets and derive measures to improve performance continuously
  • Perform other tasks as required

Travel:

  • International travel: required travel to Germany in the second half of 2024
