NDCL Teacher of Science
The Opportunity:
Notre Dame-Cathedral Latin School, a thriving, coeducational Catholic college preparatory high school sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame, seeks a collaborative and engaging Teacher of Science to support our students as they pursue academic excellence and prepare for lives of leadership and service.
Essential Skills:
- Philosophically aligned to the Catholic mission, vision, and core values of NDCL
- Professional expertise in linking curriculum, instruction, and assessment, especially as they relate to preparing students for college success
- Competence in science curriculum instruction and pedagogy, specifically high school biology and physical science
- Skilled communicator and listener who demonstrates interest in building strong, supportive relationships with students and colleagues
- Motivated learner who continually seeks feedback and is excited to grow and learn professionally
- Natural collaborator who is eager to participate in re-envisioning curricula along with other members of the Science Department
- Flexible coaching style to adapt science learning strategies for a variety of learners
- Dynamic teacher motivated by a genuine care for the well-being and academic growth of high school students
- Willingness and eagerness to support the needs of the school's cocurricular programs Qualifications:
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in science education (advanced degree in science education or biology is preferred)
- Appropriate licensure from the State of Ohio
- Prior teaching experience
- Experience in partnering and collaborating with colleagues and parents
