Technical Trainer

The Technical Trainer at CData will be a key figure in driving the technical proficiency and sales capabilities within the company. Responsible for designing and delivering scalable learning programs, this role will focus on improving the skills and technical acumen of sales and business development and expedite the onboarding process for new presales team members in a highly technical sales environment.

The successful candidate will be results-driven, have a passion for teaching/presenting, and demonstrate high proficiency for translating complex technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

Location(s):North Carolina Research Triangle or East Coast (preferred)

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Conduct live virtual and asynchronous training sessions, managing and updating the product training curriculum to ensure it reflects the latest industry trends and technology advancements.
  • Collaborate extensively with the Solution Engineering, Product, and Technical Support teams to develop training materials that incorporate real-world scenarios and advanced technical sales techniques.
  • Design and oversee the product certification process and support the onboarding of new team members, ensuring all personnel are equipped to meet the technical demands of their roles.
  • Monitor industry developments and update training programs accordingly to keep pace with technical changes and common sales challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Trainer, with a background in software sales, data management, or data analytics.
  • Strong understanding of cloud data technologies and their application in a sales context.
  • Ability to deliver engaging and effective training sessions both virtually and in-person, with some travel required.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally with multiple teams including Sales, Solution Engineering, Product Management, Marketing, and Technical Support.
  • A proactive approach to learning and teaching new technologies and sales methods.
