THE DAY-TO-DAY
- Directing and supervising the team of shipping and receiving clerks, ensuring they are properly trained and equipped to handle their duties effectively;
- Monitoring inventory levels, conducting regular audits, and ensuring accurate tracking of all incoming and outgoing goods;
- Coordinating with other departments such as purchasing, production, and customer service to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of goods;
- Implementing and enforcing proper shipping & receiving procedures;
- Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and promoting a culture of safety among shipping and receiving personnel;
- Maintaining accurate records of shipments, receipts, and inventory levels using electronic systems or paperwork as appropriate;
- Support other manufacturing and warehouse functions as required;;
- Carry out the packaging of shipments, boxing, banding and crating;
- Identifying areas for improvement in shipping and receiving processes.
- Related years of experience in this position is preferred;
- Forklift experience;
- Ability to read prints and use a tape measure to check dimensions;
- Good knowledge of Excel, Word and general computer skills;
- Good memory and capable of multi-tasking;
- Organizational skills and attention to details.
