Bowhead seeks a Blaster for 1st shift at Letterkenny Army Depot in Chambersburg, PA.

The Blaster uses abrasive blasting equipment to strip dirt, rust, old paint and grease from the surface of a vehicle/asset, and prepares it for refinishing and repair using pneumatic, electrical or mechanical equipment. The worker must control a high-pressured hose and direct the abrasive material to prevent surface damage. The worker will operate hand blast equipment and operate hand sanders and other tools, as well as mask and cover portions of surfaces not to be painted. The worker will also operate a vacuum and fill blast media.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum of one-three (1-3) years experience in the position applied for (referenced above).
• Must have a good working knowledgeable of Army regulations; systems, programs, policies, nomenclature, work methods, manuals, or other established guidelines.
• Must be able to pass a background investigation and gain access to military installations.
• The position is on a federal military installation. Candidates/employees will need to drive onto the military installation to gain access to the respective building for their position.
• Experience working at Letterkenny Army Depot highly desired.
• To perform this job successfully, an individual should have general computer knowledge. Working knowledge of internet software; spreadsheet software, word processing software and MS Office Suite is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
• Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team

• Often exerts similar effort in pushing, pulling and positioning parts assemblies and equipment.
• Frequently lifts and moves heavier items with the assistance of other workers or with lifting devices such as jacks, hoists and cranes.

SECURITY CLEARANCE: May require background investigation and must currently hold or have the ability to obtain a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for this location. Securing and maintaining a Common Access card (CAC) is a requirement for all positions at this location.
