Billing Representative

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Billing Representative to join our team. The Medical Billing Representative will be responsible for accurately billing patients and insurance companies, processing payments, and resolving any billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing procedures, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Preparing and submitting billing data and medical claims to insurance companies.
• Ensuring the patient’s medical information is accurate and up to date.
• Preparing bills and invoices, and documenting amounts due for medical procedures and services.
• Collecting and reviewing referrals and pre-authorizations.
• Following up on missed payments and resolving financial discrepancies.
• Examining patient bills for accuracy and requesting any missing information.
• Investigating and appealing denied claims.

Skills:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferably proven billing experience
• Knowledge of medical billing software and electronic health records.
• Preferably an Intermediate understanding of medical coding and billing procedures.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Google documents.
• Familiarity with insurance billing regulations and compliance requirements.
• Preferred experience billing in Brightree
