Responsibilities:
- Provide direct patient care in a psychiatric setting, including assessment, evaluation, and treatment of patients with mental health disorders.
- Telehealth options available including after hours
- Administer medications and monitor patients for potential side effects and therapeutic effectiveness.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
- Conduct group therapy sessions and facilitate therapeutic activities.
- Monitor and document patient progress, behaviors, and responses to treatment.
- Assist in discharge planning and coordinate follow-up care for patients transitioning to outpatient settings.
Requirements:
- Valid nursing license and certification as a Psychiatric Nurse (PMHNP).
- Strong knowledge of psychiatric disorders, psychopharmacology, and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Ability to assess and respond to psychiatric emergencies and crisis situations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and members of the healthcare team.
- Experience with electronic medical record systems (e.g., eClinicalWorks) for documentation purposes.
- Ability to lift and assist patients with mobility needs as required.
