Damiano Eye Consultants is Hiring an Ophthalmic Technician Near Castle Rock, CO

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist ophthalmologists in providing patient care, conducting diagnostic tests, and maintaining ophthalmic equipment.

**Responsibilities:**

- Perform preliminary patient screenings, including taking medical history and measuring visual acuity

- Conduct diagnostic tests, such as tonometry, visual field testing, topography, manifest retraction

- Assist ophthalmologists in various procedures, such as eye examinations and surgeries

- Administer eye medications as directed by the ophthalmologist

- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records

- Provide patient education on eye care and treatment plans - Assist with medical billing and coding

Requirements:

- Previous experience as an ophthalmic technician or a related role preferred

- COA, COT or COMT preferred but not required

- Knowledge of ophthalmic equipment and procedures

- Familiarity with medical billing and coding processes

- Strong understanding of anatomy and physiology related to the eye

- Proficiency in using electronic medical record systems

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

- Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment

- Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and ability to maintain patient confidentiality
