Hill Wood Shed is a small, family-owned business in New Castle, Indiana. We serve larger customers like Wayfair and smaller individuals through our websites. We make all-wood media racks for media collectors and coffins and caskets for the funeral home industry. We pride ourselves on making quality products in a relaxed working environment. Flexible schedules and part-time/full-time opportunities are available.
We are seeking a skilled and experienced cabinet maker to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for woodworking and craftsmanship, along with the ability to create high-quality custom cabinets and caskets/coffins. This position offers the opportunity to work in a collaborative environment and contribute to the creation of beautiful and functional pieces.
**Responsibilities:**
- Measure, cut, shape, assemble, and install cabinets and furniture pieces
- Operate a variety of woodworking machinery and hand tools with precision and safety
- Sand, stain, and finish cabinets and furniture to achieve desired aesthetic and durability
- Inspect finished products for quality and ensure they meet design specifications and standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace and adhere to safety standards at all times
**Qualifications:**
- Proven experience as a cabinet maker or similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects
- Proficiency in woodworking techniques, including joinery, cabinetry construction, and finishing
- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise
- Good communication and teamwork abilities
- Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and technologies
- Physical stamina and dexterity to perform tasks requiring bending, lifting, and standing for extended periods
