Superior Recreational Products is looking for a Saw Operator who is responsible for supporting the production process of structural parts according to customer specifications, blueprints, sketches, sales orders, verbal instructions, and other forms of instructions. Tasks include but are not limited to setting up and operating metal saws of several types, such as vertical and horizontal, reciprocating, and band saws. Marking and drilling holes to print specifications. The operator must handle, load, adjust, and unload the machines and operate peripheral equipment as required. Troubleshoots and detects malfunctions in machine operations such as worn or damaged tooling, etc. Communicate with co-workers regarding production runs, and maintain a safe, organized, and clean work environment. The job may require overtime and a flexible schedule, reporting early and working late.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. The Saw Operator must have mechanical abilities and be able to read and interpret shop drawings and related documentation to cut compound angles with accuracy and produce correct and accurate parts. Accurate work is important as errors in cutting can result in costly scrap of materials.
2. Obtain the necessary materials and hand loads or forklifts move them to and from the saw tables, and measure, and mark all tangents.
3. Operates metal saw machines and equipment including but not limited to band saws and other related tools such as skill saws, routers, portable band saws, hammers, drills and impact, tape measure, degree finders, and jigs when applicable following specific operational and safety instructions.
4. Examines work including, visually inspecting the first and last piece produced, taking measurements of processed parts for accuracy in dimensions, and identifying cosmetic and surface defects, aided with the use of hand tools and measuring devices such as measuring tape, degree finders and jigs when applicable to meet work order or drawing specifications.
5. Must be willing to accept and receive frequent supervision and assistance regarding processes.
6. Implements and maintains 5’S practices in his/hers work area including in equipment according to company procedures.
7. The Saw Operator must follow all applicable safety procedures to avoid injuries including but not limited to requests for help from co-workers with loads up to 75 pounds.
8. Performs other related duties as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor.
