REPORTS TO: Director of Partnerships and Communication
JOB OBJECTIVES:(Purpose of the position): Assists the Director of Partnerships and
Communication and the Technical Manager in coordinating the Performing Arts Center
facility usage. Administrate and supervise all technical requirements associated with
productions at the Performing Arts Center. Offer assistance in technical design to school
production or events.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS (Functions essential to attaining job objectives):

1. Communicate with employees to coordinate productions, work with
performers and performance groups and other issues related to the Performing
Arts Center operations.
Strategic Goal Area II – Student/Stakeholder Engagement & Loyalty
1. Assist in establishing and maintaining effective communication with the
community and encouraging their participation and support.
Strategic Goal Area III – Efficient and Effective Organizational Processes
1. Assist the Technical Manager in coordinating facility usage and setup.
2. Conduct pre-production meetings and communicate with school and rental clients
regarding event needs.
3. Administrate and supervise all technical requirements associated with productions
presented at the Center.
a. Assist in technical design for school productions or school related events.
b. Coordinate sound/light assistants for productions and meetings.
4. Maintain sound, lighting and other technical equipment inventory for the
Performing Arts Center.
a. Ensure proper care is given to all equipment by schools or rental parties.
b. Request service when equipment malfunctions.
c. Ensure all equipment is stored properly and returned to storage area after use.
5. Prepare Performing Arts Center for performances, setting and focusing lights,
setting up the sound system; program lighting computer to ensure proper timing of
lights.
6. Train designated users on designing/programming/focusing lights/sound
equipment.
7. Research, recommend new equipment, instruments and other purchases for the
Performing Arts Center.

walk; use hands to finger; handle, or feel; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch
or crawl; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear.
11. Be able to lift or move up to 25lbs.
1. Continuously research and recommend ways to improve the Performing Arts
Center for the Carroll County School System.
2. Work a flexible work schedule which will include weekends and evenings.
1. Completion of associate' s degree or bachelor's preferred.
2. Five years of work-related experience as a technical director, lighting design and or
set design preferred.
a. A comparable amount of training, education or experience may be
substituted for the minimum qualifications.
