Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented Junior Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will assist in maintaining financial records and ensuring that financial transactions are properly recorded.
Responsibilities:
- Preparing hand written and computer checks for multiple accounts
- Making deposits for multiple accounts
- Maintaining check books for multiple accounts
- Entering entries into Excel Spread sheets for multiple accounts
- Preparing Monthly Financial Statements
- Preparing Payroll - adding time cards and writing payroll checks
- Reviewing Payroll Reports and preparing Quarter and year end Reports
- Workers Compensation Reports
- Government annual Reports
' Preparing paperwork for new employees
- Document scanning and filings
- Preparing 1099's at end of year for multiple entities
- Preparing W2's for Employees
- Reconciling monthly accounts
- Performing general bookkeeping
- Support senior accountants in managing balance sheets and profit/loss statements
- Assisting with audits for clients
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Strong understanding of financial report writing and financial concepts
- Knowledge of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping
- Previous experience as a clerk or in public accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in accounting software such as Quicken and Quick Books
- Ability to perform account analysis accurately
- Excellent with numbers and with 10-key by touch
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Excellent hand writing for hand written checks and deposits and updating check registers
