ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Under limited supervision, perform professional Public Health Educator duties. The position is designated for population health priority areas, specifically Suicide Prevention Regional Coordination. Abilities necessary include, but are not limited to; build sustainable relationships, lead implementation of suicide prevention workplan items at the policy, system, and environmental levels, provide presentations and trainings, facilitate local and regional meetings and communication, collaborate with local, regional, and state partners, and understand grant workplans and budgeting. A Public Health Educator collects and analyzes data to identify community needs prior to planning, implementing, monitoring, and evaluating programs. In addition to programs, they focus on sustainable change through policy, systems and environmental strategies.
This position is expected to provide a full range of Public Health Educator skills within the six (6) areas of Public Health Responsibility per MN State Statute 145A, with a focus in “Promote Healthy Communities and Healthy Behavior” through Suicide Prevention Regional Coordination. Other duties as assigned. Must work positively in a team environment, function constructively during conflict resolution and be positive and proactive when problem solving. This position requires local and regional travel, and it may include overnight statewide trainings. Some evening and weekend hours may be worked.
