Lakeview Christian Home is Hiring a Comptroller Near Carlsbad, NM

DickersonBakker is leading the search for a Comptroller for Lakeview Christian Home, the largest provider of senior adult nursing home and independent living services in southeast New Mexico. This is an exceptional opportunity for a dynamic and experienced professional to join the leadership team of Lakeview Christian Home and make a significant impact on the senior community.

As Comptroller, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of Lakeview’s accounting and financial management. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the integrity of all financial systems and reporting, as well as maintaining the strategic and operational excellence of Lakeview’s financial practices. This position is ideal for a visionary leader who is aligned with Lakeview’s mission to serve seniors with compassion and excellence.

Lakeview is seeking a talented leader who is a strong communicator and has a proven track record in financial leadership. The ideal candidate will possess the knowledge, experience, and drive to provide effective financial guidance for Lakeview’s future. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining Lakeview’s financial health and supporting its mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and monitor all accounting policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare and Medicaid requirements and practices.
  • Coordinate Medical Records and Medicare/Medicaid billing to ensure timely payment received.
  • Ensure compliance with State and Federal licensing regulations for all financial areas.
  • Oversee and direct all accounting functions to include AP/AR, General Ledger, Payroll, Inventories, Purchasing, Board Designated Funds, Contributions, and Resident Trust Fund Accounts.
  • Prepare annual operating budgeting for LCH and provide guidance and support in the completion of departmental budgets.
  • Present managers and directors with financial information to assist them in managing their areas of responsibility.
  • Prepare monthly and annual reports for the CEO and Board of Directors as directed.

Administrative/Operational

  • Directly responsible for hiring, orienting, supervising, and performance evaluation of administration and accounting staff as assigned.
  • Continuous review and evaluation of staff providing professional and personal growth opportunities as needed.
  • Conduct and manage contract negotiations and maintain proper documentation.
  • Attend the Board and committee meetings as required producing and reporting financial information, analyses, statistics, and documentation.
  • Continually seek to ensure best practices are implemented for all accounting and financial management systems, processes, and personnel.

Requirements

  • Extensive training, education, and experience in accounting and financial management.
  • 7 years of related accounting experience including 2 years in supervisory roles-governmental, non-profit, and/or healthcare organization preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and other accounting standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting is strongly preferred and LCH will consider commensurate experience if applicable.
  • Experience in Medicare/Medicaid, insurance, and/or other reimbursement programs preferred.
  • Experience with accounting software.
  • Strong managerial and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with individuals at all levels of the organization. Passion for Lakeview’s mission.

This position is based in Carlsbad, New Mexico. This is a national search, and relocation will be provided if necessary.
