Position InformationStarting Salary: $32.20 an hour / $62,790.00 annually

Work Hours: This position will work and be paid for 75 hours in a 2 week pay period
Current Cumberland County Employees will follow the County Promotion/Demotion policy.
ResponsibilitiesUpon authority delegated by the District Attorney:
- Performs the duties of an assistant district attorney, which include:
- Assists police in the investigation of criminal offenses.
- Provides legal opinions to police relative to investigations.
- Conducts legal research and writes opinions thereon.
- Advises police on the drafting of criminal complaints, search warrants and statements of probable cause.
- Evaluates evidence relative to propriety of criminal charges and search warrants.
- Review and sign criminal information.
- Assembles and evaluates evidence, interviews, and prepares witnesses for various court appearances.
- Represents the Commonwealth in the prosecution of cases at preliminary hearing, pretrial motions, pre-trial conferences, trials before court and/or jury, post-verdict motions and appeals to Superior and Supreme Courts of Pennsylvania.
- Interacts with all other state and local law enforcement agencies and local individuals and organization.
- Uphold all ethical duties to seek justice in all cases.
- Juris doctor degree and admission to practice before the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania.
- Some training in computer helpful.
- Continuing legal education required.
- Preferred but not required.
