Maintenance Technician

Job description:

• Inspects building and lift station daily to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet.

• Performs minor electrical maintenance to include but not be limited to replacement or repair of fixtures (e.g., wall switches and outlets, incandescent and fluorescent bulbs and tubes, ballast, sockets, fuses, minor appliances, cords, etc.) using appropriate hand, power, and specialty tools.

• Performs minor plumbing maintenance (e.g., replacement or repair of leaks in drains and faucets, unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.).

• Performs minor painting, carpentry, and masonry work (e.g., preparing surfaces and using brush, sprayer, or roller to apply paints, stains, and varnishes, hanging doors, fitting locks and handles, etc.).

• Replace ceiling tiles as needed.

• Meet with outside maintenance vendors as needed to ensure they are performing per their contracts to a satisfactory level.

• Monthly inspection checklist for Fire Extinguishers, Emergency Lights and Exit Signs

• Monthly inspection of Eye Wash Stations

• Daily policing of grounds to remove trash and debris as needed.

• Order parts and maintain required documents.

• Performs other work-related duties as assigned.

• Must be able to adhere to all safety practices.

• Planning and scheduling repairs and coordinating with the building’s occupants

• Managing inventory of supplies and tools

• Strong attention to detail, ability to multitask, good communications skills

• Proficient in use of hand and power tools necessary to perform plant maintenance and repair, and knowledgeable in the processes and procedures of the function

• Working knowledge of applied mathematics and basic computer knowledge

• Strong attention to detail to display quality work
• Effective problem-solving abilities.

• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.

• Must have strong prioritization skills.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week

Schedule:

• Monday to Friday
