Description:

Markon is seeking an energetic, and motivated Electrical Engineer to provide construction management services to a DoD client.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform technical reviews of design packages, equipment startup documents, 3rd party testing reports, commissioning test scripts and acceptance tests.
  • Verifies electrical equipment and systems have been installed and tested in accordance with the design and meet the design intent, levels of performance and energy efficiency.
  • Participate in commissioning and acceptance test activities with designers, contractors, equipment vendors, commissioning authorities, other commissioning members, FEAD and Public Works personnel.
  • Provides technical support to the Contracting Officer Technical Representative (COTR), Government Electrical Acceptance Engineer, construction managers and engineering technicians for assigned projects.
Job Requirements

Required:

  •  Bachelor’s Degree, PE, and 5 years of experience
    or 
    Bachelor’s Degree and 10 years of experience in construction industry
  • Experience in the construction industry, in startup, acceptance testing and performance field verification of electrical systems including: instrumentation, direct digital controls systems, power monitoring, permanent and temporary power equipment, feeders, vaults, cabling, wiring, terminations, substations, switchgear, breakers, fire alarm, sprinkler and security systems, phone and data communications systems
  • Possess valid OSHA 10- hour or OSHA 30-hour certification or obtain either within three months of hire.
  • Familiarity with commissioning and acceptance processes, preferably with NAVFAC or USACE
  • Working knowledge of National Electrical Codes, NFPA70E, and OSHA guidelines regarding safe construction practices
  • Experience performing technical reviews of design packages, equipment startup documents, 3rd party testing reports, commissioning scripts and acceptance tests.
  • Proficient with MS Office applications, email, internet navigation, and web-based tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, nationally important construction program.
  • Ability to collect, analyze and interpret data.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and identify potential problems and recommend solutions from past experiences.
  • Ability to express oneself clearly, and concisely, orally and in writing.
