The Robo Hub is an emerging community space focused on fostering intergenerational learning, exploration, and connections through technology. Nestled beside the expansive Danehy Park, we provide captivating programs and events for school-aged children and their parents, aiming to be a beacon of innovation and community in the heart of our area.

Position:

Events Coordinator, reporting to Director of Community

Location:

86A Sherman St. Cambridge, MA. This job is in-person. Schedule will fluctuate depending on event schedule.

Job Type:

Full-time

Compensation:

The salary range for this position is $50k-$60k depending on experience and fit.

Responsibilities

The Events and Marketing Manager at The Robo Hub will be instrumental in developing a vibrant community through a robust schedule of events and effective marketing strategies. Key responsibilities include:

  • Event Planning and Coordination: Oversee the event calendar, ensure smooth scheduling and space transitions, secure staff and resources, and communicate with event organizers. Handle changes, cancellations, and resolve logistical challenges. Escalate issues as needed.
  • Event Promotion: Develop local event-driven promotion strategies for The Robo Hub’s events. Use digital marketing, social media, and public relations to enhance The Robo Hub's presence and engagement within the community.
  • Guest Experience: Ensure a top-notch experience for guests, visitors, and partners. Anticipate needs, uncover and promptly address concerns, and recommend process changes to drive continuous improvements to guest experience.
  • Analytics and Reporting: Utilize analytics to track the effectiveness of event promotion and event-driven marketing campaigns, making data-driven recommendations to improve future campaigns.
  • Content Creation: Capture photo and video from events, and turn this content into postable, sharable media for social and other marketing campaigns.
  • Support the Director of Community with budget and vendor management for events and marketing campaigns as well as forging connections with local organizations, companies, groups, and individuals to explore opportunities for events and partnerships.

Requirements

  • Experience hosting and managing events, marketing, and social media
  • Strong project coordination skills, capable of handling multiple workstreams simultaneously.
  • Exceptional communication skills, adept at keeping relevant stakeholders engaged and informed.
  • Willingness to work on a flexible schedule, including evenings and weekends.
  • Passionate about technology, education, and making a positive impact in the community.

We especially value experience that includes any of the following:

  • Working with families, technology professionals, and organizations
  • Familiarity with Cambridge geography and the Greater Boston area
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Event Management, or a related field
