As a Cheese Specialist in our supermarket, you will be the resident expert on all things cheese, responsible for curating a diverse and high-quality cheese selection, providing exceptional customer service, and sharing your passion for cheese with both customers and team members. The Cheese Specialist plays a pivotal role in creating a unique and delightful shopping experience for our customers.

Required Qualifications:
The minimum required qualifications for this position include, but are not limited to the following:

• Previous experience in a similar role, such as a cheese monger or specialty foods expert.
• Extensive knowledge and passion for different types of cheese, including their origins, flavors, and pairings.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Ability to proficiently read, write, speak, analyze, interpret, and understand the English language.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high standards.
• Ability to stand, bend, twist, reach, push, pull and regularly lift 25 lbs., and occasionally lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to work in varying temperatures.
• Ability to work with fresh, dried and/or processed products, spices and powdered substances without negative allergic consequences.
• Ability to tolerate dust and cleaning agents during routine housekeeping duties.
• Must possess a strong knowledge of safe food handling and demonstrate safe work habits.
• Ability to stand/walk for the duration of a scheduled shift.

• Provide personalized assistance to customers, offering recommendations and pairing suggestions.
• Create visually appealing and well-organized displays to showcase the cheese selection.
• Implement creative merchandising strategies to attract customers and drive sales.
• Monitor cheese inventory levels, track expiration dates, and manage stock rotation to ensure product freshness.
• Place orders and coordinate deliveries to maintain optimal inventory levels.
• Uphold the highest standards of quality and hygiene in handling and storing cheese products.
• Conduct regular inspections to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations.
