About this role:
The Digital Technology and Innovation group supports our Corporate Strategy, Digital Platforms & Innovation business. Together they work closely to continue evolving Wells Fargo’s digital platforms and enhance integration of the innovation pipeline into our customer-facing capabilities.
The Digital Application Release Engineering team (DARE) is responsible for providing automated/self-service tools to enable agile teams to deliver new capabilities to Wells Fargo customers at rapid speed for the Wells Fargo
Digital platforms. The DARE team is responsible for Services including environment provisioning, source code repository management, CI/CD, blue green deployments, middleware engineering, application configurations, and production roll-out.
We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong focus on developing automation solutions and self-service tools for continuous integration and delivery of web applications using industry standard frameworks. This position requires excellent analytical skills to analyze processes and identify automation opportunities, optimizing existing solutions to enable faster delivery of services.
In this role, you will:
Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new client's needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
Use deep understanding of industry SDLC standards to analyze existing standards in DevOps and augment the standards
Work closely with developers on a daily basis to design solutions around continuous integration and continuous delivery
Work with a team of engineers through technical analysis, design, construction, deployment and support of scalable software delivery automation solutions. Conduct design and code reviews as part of the solution development process
Provide expertise in many layers of the Application and Infrastructure stack, being able to adapt to changing tools and technologies quickly, initiative and eagerness to learn new technologies
Excellent written and verbal Communication Skills, ability to communicate with technical groups effectively
Required Qualifications, US:
4 years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
4 years of build-deploy automation and configuration experience within the Linux and Unix environment
4 years of Gradle or Maven experience
4 years of experience troubleshooting environments across the entire architecture (i.e. applications to infrastructure)
4 years of experience with Linux OS environment
2 year of experience supporting Wells Fargo Digital Application Release Engineering team and Digital technology partners
Desired Qualifications:
3 years of Python experience
3 years of experience with server administration and job creation using Jenkins Continuous Integration server
2 years of experience developing or supporting IT Service Management solutions (e.g. Incident Management, Change Management, Asset Management and Configuration Management)
3 years of JIRA experience
3 years of source or version control tools experience
Knowledge and understanding of AppDynamics
BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or related areas of study
Job Expectations:
Ability to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays if needed
