Gilmer Warehouse & Logistics is Hiring a Packer Near Cochran, GA

Position Summary:

Responsible for packing boxes with correct quantity and quality product into boxes.

Essential Functions:

  • Packs correct quantity into boxes.
  • Identifies and disposes of defective items.
  • Follows all company guidelines regarding packaging.
  • Pulls, packs, weighs, and labels products based on daily orders.
  • Ensures all packages are properly packaged and sealed.
  • Meets the specifics of customer orders in a timely manner.
  • Keeps products separated, organized, and accessible.
  • Monitors product quality and reports any problems or discrepancies.
  • Operates various pieces of equipment properly (i.e. hand tools, glues, padding, dolly, pallet wrapper, palletizer, and pallet jacks).
  • Maintains a clean, sanitary, and safe work area.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Knows and follows proper office and GMP safety protocols; knows and follows Company’s grooming, hygiene and dress code policies including appropriate personal protection equipment (PPE) for safety compliance.

Requirements:

  • Must be eighteen (18) years of age or older.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • At least 6 months of experience in a similar industry or role preferred.
  • General understanding of packing procedures.
  • Basic knowledge and competency in arithmetic and able to identify dates.
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Great communication skills in English.
  • Able to work in fast paced environment.
  • Must have physical dexterity of hands and fingers.

Work Environment:

  • The employee is frequently exposed to moving machinery.
  • The job will occasionally require lifting / carrying / push / pull up to 50 lbs.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • This job will require work in a non-temperature-controlled warehouse (indoor temperature fluctuates through each season).
  • This job may require extended hours, Saturday, Sunday and Holidays, and other shifts and overtime as needed, to meet customer requirements.
  • This job will require standing in one position long periods of time.
