Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Laboratory Manager to join our team! 

Responsibilities

• Directs and supports performance improvement activities at the hospital as well as FSED and retail laboratory
• Establishing a QC program appropriate for the testing performed and establishing the parameter for acceptable levels of analytic performance and ensuring the levels are maintained throughout the entire process from initial receipt of the specimen, through the sample analysis and reporting of results
• Maintains comprehensive knowledge of institutional/departmental policies and promotes consistent interpretation and adherence. Provides new policy information and updates to employees on a timely basis
• Other related duties as required

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Medical Technology, or related field
• Certified as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Lab Technician (MLT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) or American Medical Technologists (AMT), or equivalent
• Minimum of ten (10) years of generalist experience in an acute care hospital laboratory with at least five (5) years of team lead, supervisor or manager responsibilities preferred
• Blood bank experience preferred
• Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally to varying levels of individuals throughout the patient care process
• Demonstrates good judgment in performing duties and conflict resolution
