Job DescriptionThe Career - What You Will Do:Apothecary Products, LLC (APL) is currently adding a Quality Engineer to its team. In partnership with Quality leadership, you will help ensure our product portfolio of self-care wellness solutions and pharmacy supplies supplied to retailers like Walgreens, CVS, Target, Amazon, and Walmart meet quality standards. The incumbent will play a vital role in the development, execution, and maintenance of the company’s quality management system (QMS) by performing a wide range of activities including determining inspection criteria, implementing test methods, coordinating product testing, investigating nonconforming products, leading supplier quality activities, and continuously improving the QMS. This position will be based at our manufacturing/distribution headquarters in Burnsville, Minnesota and will operate in a hybrid work setting.
In this role the incumbent will:
  • Support the implementation, maintenance, and adherence to the QMS
  • Lead and/or support product nonconformance investigations and discussion for product disposition decisions and actions. This includes on-site production, contract manufacturers and domestic/international suppliers
  • Develop incoming acceptance test method for new and existing products; coordinate product testing
  • Lead supplier quality activities and initiatives including notification of product quality issues, developing improvement actions with suppliers and follow-up
  • Develop and maintain product quality plans, identify critical to quality attributes to ensure that the product meets its intended performance specifications.
  • Monitor key quality metrics and perform trend analysis, identify, and implement improvements to processes and/or products and drive data-driven decision making
  • Investigate product issues reported by the customer and work with other company functions as necessary to identify/implements effective solutions
  • Assist with the validation of new/changed products and processes
  • Be a consultant, mentor, and trusted confidant to other Quality team members.
  • Other duties as beneficial to the success of APL
Qualifications Experience:We seek applicants with these critical skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience
  • 0-2 years’ experience in a similar role or exposure to the consumer products/medical device/pharmacy supplies industry, ideally gained through internships or relevant positions, is advantageous
  • Prior experience working with 21 CFR 820 and ISO 13485, or ability to quickly learn
  • Strong critical technical thinking skills
  • Detail oriented, organized, and capable of working effectively with minimal supervision
  • Demonstrable successes in communicating effectively with external stakeholders (including customers, suppliers, and regulatory bodies) to discuss and resolve problems or concerns
  • Technical proficiency to productively work with and in Microsoft Office and other business systems
  • Ability to work with a diverse team
  • Verified experience operating in a fast-paced business experience with demonstrated effectiveness in a small company/location

Preferred qualifications include:
  • ASQ certification a plus; if you do not have it we will help you earn it!
