Position Overview (Senior Scientist):

We are seeking a highly motivated individual who thrives in a dynamic, fast-paced, team-oriented and collaborative environment to be part of our success in the Cell Biology/Protein Sciences group.

The successful candidate is expected to perform cell-based and in vitro assays using reporter genes and/or gene-expression analyses in cell lines and primary cells. A proven track record of development and execution of novel and established reporter-based assays to screen and evaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of potential therapeutic agents is critical. Experience in establishing and optimizing at least one cell-based reporter assay for candidate screening and lead selection and a willingness to set up additional assay systems is expected. The candidate must have strong written and oral communication skills, be self-motivated, a team player and able to work independently.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Culturing of cell lines and primary cells, transfections and perform in vitro assays to evaluate efficacy and mechanism of action of protein therapeutic agents.
  • Development and execution of reporter gene assays, cell growth assays, generation and characterization of stable cell lines.
  • Familiarity with immune assay, blots, FACS, qPCR, and other in-vitro assays.
  • Work with cross functional teams internally and externally to bring research stage molecules to clinical development.
  • Independently review scientific literature for advances in the related fields.
  • Prepare, present and review scientific presentations for internal/external use.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD with 2 years or MS degree with 7 years of academic or industrial experience in cell biology.
  • Familiarity with TGFb biology and/or prior experience with cell-based assays for selection of potential therapeutic agents is preferred.
  • Able to work independently on implementation of experiments under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet project deadlines.
