HEC is a family owned and operated business that has been servicing Southern Idaho since 1996. We are looking for additional members to continue to help us achieve our team goals for quality installations that gives the customer a satisfied feeling of knowing that their needs have been met and exceeded.
HEC is currently seeking a driven and motivated individual that is an experienced Low-voltage Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a background in low voltage structured cabling and experience with the maintenance and installation of low-voltage systems. Experience in one or all of these fields of work are essential for this position. Data / Fiber Networks, Fire Alarm Systems, Security Alarm Systems, IP Camera Systems and Access Control Systems. We are looking for a candidate who is a critical thinker, detail-oriented, cost-conscious and capable of working independently as well as in a team setting.
Lead Tech Requirements:
- Knowledge and understanding of low voltage industry terminology
- Knowledge of correct installation of category structured cabling, fiber optics cabling, and alarm cabling and terminations
- Low voltage equipment installation
- Ability to lead projects and crew members on the job site
- Ability to answer questions and instruct crew members
- Ability to communicate clearly
- Adhere to all required safety requirements
- Computer literacy
- Ability to read blueprints
- Excellent time management skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and problem solve efficiently
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Insure quality of installations and service issues
- Occasional travel with compensation
- Occasional Holiday work with compensation
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull, and reach overhead.
- Stand 90% of the day.
- Climb ladders.
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected).
- Carry material from one location to another or floor to floor.
- Lifting and work with tools above head.
- Must be able to work from A-Frames, extension ladders, boom lift, scaffolds and aerial work platforms at various heights.
Extensive experience is a plus in the following areas
- Conduit bending and installation
- Electrical code
- Knowledge of current NFPA fire alarm codes
- Installation experience of IP Cameras, Security Alarm, Fire Alarm and Access Control Systems
Additional:
- Probationary period of 90 days
- Applicant must have a valid drivers license and safe driving skills
- Applicant must be able to pass a drug screening and background check
- Applicant will be provided with company vehicle
Pay Rate:
- Dependent on experience
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
