*Description:*
We have an exciting opening for a Construction Project Manager to lead the construction activities that are required to expand our fiber optic network. As the leader of construction projects you will be responsible from project initiation through final closeout. We have one opening that can be located in Central or Southwest Kansas (Wichita, Manhattan, Salina, Hays, Pratt, Colby, Scott City, Dodge City, Garden City, Liberal, or Fowler areas).
Responsibilities:
Ensure that telecommunications constructions projects are accomplished within established priorities, scopes, schedules, and budgets
Lead the project team through the project life cycle (Design, Estimating, Procurement, Construction, Closeout)
Interface with Fiber Engineers, Estimators, Permitting Specialists, Fiber Splicers, Installers, Sales, and Legal
Request and obtain competitive pricing from construction contractors
Monitor materials that are required for projects and work with procurement to ensure appropriate materials are available to meet the project schedule
Implement strategies that will create a positive work environment and a culture of continuous improvement
Lead meetings such as project reviews and progress meetings
Provide schedule updates and status of specific project activities
Identify, understand and actively manage project risks (schedule impacts, scope gaps, weather, material shortages, equipment breakdowns and manpower requirements and develop mitigation plans for these impacts)
Interact and solve issues when construction impacts stakeholders (property/land owners, cities, counties, townships, KDOT and additional stakeholders)
Lead all aspects of the companys safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others.
Willingness to visit project sites first hand to see issues and solve problems
