SUMMARY
This position is responsible for researching appropriately assigning, overseeing and communicating all aspects of the day to day activity for Northeast Grocery Inc general liability, property, and product liability programs to both internal operational and corporate associates. The Risk Analyst acts as a liaison between the stores, corporate departments, outside legal counsel and our third party administrators (TPA) ensuring that they are well informed.
The position can be located in either Buffalo or Schenectady, NY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyze all general liability, product, property and cart claims for compliancy, trends, and efficiency.
Identify areas for cost of claims savings and provide these recommendations to Risk Manager.
Make decisions on whether to manage the claim internally or give direction to TPA to manage. Internally direct the claims process while monitoring our third party claims vendors.
Forward all product claims to appropriate internal personnel to ensure the information gets to the manufacturer.
Evaluate all property damage to Operating Companies. Assign all other property damage claims to third party.
Review and provide all legal discovery request to appropriate internal personnel to ensure the accurate information is provided to legal counsel
Assist in any investigation by insuring surveillance tapes and photo documentation are submitted to support the Operating Company’s defense
Prepare summary reviews for each claim on a quarterly basis identifying opportunities
Review all claim service with vendor invoices
Manage the COI program reviewing, making recommendations and approving vendor COI to mitigate risk for the Operating Company’s. Act as liaison and internal resource to the business in setting up vendor activity from an insurance requirement standpoint. Make recommendations when appropriate. Make decisions on compliancy based upon type of vendor services. Make decisions on COI waivers.
Respond to all inquires from store management and operations regarding their period direct charges and other matters that may arise regarding claims.
Develop and run reports for Management
Team contributor for all Risk Management training seminars for stores and operations managers as well as manager trainees.
Work with Risk team on the implementation and maintenance of our safety incentive program. Communicate all incentive and awareness information to operations.
