Job Description

Assist with filling and / or packaging orders from the warehouse in preparation for shipment. Help maintain

the warehouse and inventory of products and / or customer supplied materials. Assist with training and

continuous improvement efforts.

  • Completes hand assembly tasks including but not limited to : folding, collating, inserting, sealing, belly banding, kitting, and sequence checking.
  • Assists equipment operators in loading pockets, replenishing job specific material or supplies, and execution of quality and accuracy standards.
  • Follows instructions and meets production expectations set by supervisor or lead.
  • Follows Assembly and Quality Control SOP’s to ensure 100% accuracy of material produced.
  • Must be able to read and interpret job specifications and kitting instructions.
  • Pick or package a variety of printed materials or related items using a variety of packing procedures and techniques.
  • Follow detailed procedures to perform routine packing work. Assemble finished products into boxes or containers for shipping.
  • Perform related tasks such as placing labels on packages, putting manuals into binders, and handling boxes for final product.

Ensure accurate shipping information is attached and packages are shipped according to specified schedule.

  • Place, arrange, mark, seal, and tag items in bundles, on pallets and / or in containers, bins, and bulk storage.
  • Meet established productivity and quality standards.
  • Identify potential issues and involve department Lead and / or management to determine an appropriate solution.
  • Participate in continuous training and development of employees and temporary labor.
  • Count and sort various product items.
  • Load and unloads materials onto pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand.
  • Conveys materials from storage or work sites to designated area, using hand truck, electric dolly, or other device.
  • May assist with special projects or more complex customer orders.
  • Assist with maintaining the security and safety of the warehouse.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred
  • 1 year of relevant working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment required
  • Must have the ability to read and interpret job specifications and identifying the correct parts for fulfilling customer orders.
  • Must have very good oral and written communication skills sufficient to explain departmental procedures and / or methods when completing assignments.
  • Basic knowledge of routine packing procedures, techniques, equipment and general warehouse procedures.
  • Able to stock, move, arrange, and rotate items in accordance with operating instructions or under guidance of a higher-level employee.
  • Able to complete appropriate forms relating to stock description, quantity, unit of issue, and the labeling requirements for incoming and outgoing materials.
  • Skill in assembling standard shipping boxes and packing contents securely.
  • Basic skill in the use of shrink-wrap or strapping equipment’s, manual dollies, pallet jacks, carts or hand trucks and hand tools used in material handling tasks such as strapping and stretch wrapping tools and equipment, tape fasteners, metal band sheers and related equipment.
  • Basic arithmetic to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
  • Must be willing to flex schedule to meet the needs of production, including working overtime or a different shift, if needed.
  • Must be able to use a ladder to pick items or to retrieve boxes or materials.

The pay range for this role at the noted location is $ - $ / hour. The actual rate of pay offered may vary based upon, but not limited to : education, skills, experience, proficiency, performance, shift, and location.

In addition to base salary, depending on the role, the total compensation package may also includes, overtime, shift differential, call-in, and stand-by pay.
