Summary: The main function of an instrument technician is to repair, test, adjust, or install electronic equipment, such as industrial controls, transmitters, and antennas.
Job Responsibilities
  • Supervise scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, and repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
  • Review work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
  • Supervise testing of faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions.
  • Supervise and assign inspection of components of industrial equipment for accurate assembly and installation and for defects such as loose connections and frayed wires.
  • Advise management regarding customer satisfaction, product performance, and suggestions for product improvements.
  • Utilize rigging and pre-task plans/standardized work to rotate modules and compression plates.
    • Battery Module Build Technician Work Description:
    • Load and install various fixtures details and compression plates to press fixtures.
    • Press operation.
    • Rigging and hoist lifts of various details. Rotation of fixture modules. (Lift and rotation 200-400 lbs.)
    • General assembly of various battery module components
    • Transportation of battery modules on carts (push loads of 600lbs).
    • Extended periods of walking and standing required throughout the day.

  • Team player and detail oriented.
  • Expert leadership and mentoring skills necessary to provide support and constructive performance feedback.
  • Expert knowledge of circuit boards, processors, chips, electronic equipment, and computer hardware.
  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Education/Experience:
Associate Degree Or Equivalent Experience/training Required.10 years' experience required.
  • Assemble batteries.
  • Loading, unloading, stacking
  • Operating cranes and machines
  • Builds while engineers are debugging.
  • Once Engineers release the machine, the operator can move to the next in production.
  • Technical assembly experience
  • Retired mechanics or engineers could be someone to look at.
  • Recommended Certifications: rigging/hoist background.
  • Assembly background
Shift: 3rd 7PM to 5:30AM
