BoulderCentre for Orthopedics and Spine is Hiring a Materials Manager Near Broomfield, CO

Description

Job Overview: Join our team as a Materials Manager where you'll play a crucial role in managing the comprehensive requirements of medical and surgical supply flow for multiple departments. You'll consistently anticipate consumption, re-ordering, and restocking of consumable supplies, ensuring seamless operations across various departments. 

Department: Surgery Center

Reports to: Surgery Center Director 

Schedule/Type: FT - onsite/hourly 

Wage: $26-38/hr, commensurate with experience

Bonus Eligibility: No

Requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Monitor inventory levels and proactively initiate orders to prevent shortages for routine operations.
  • Coordinate with vendors to ensure timely supply deliveries and maintain accurate records of orders, invoices, and pricing.
  • Negotiate contracts and uphold compliance with corporate agreements and group purchasing organization contracts.
  • Conduct data analysis to optimize inventory levels, control costs, and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Research and evaluate new products, substitutions, and equipment trials to enhance efficiency and reduce expenses.
  • Manage sterile storage areas, maintain orderly stock levels, and oversee restocking activities as needed.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and supervise performance to ensure smooth operation of supply chain processes.
  • Implement safety practices, adhere to HIPAA regulations, and protect patient privacy in all aspects of supply chain management.
  • Possess comprehensive knowledge in supply chain management, procurement, and planning.
  • Excel in data analysis to implement LEAN practices, enhance cost savings, and devise strategic plans.
  • Demonstrate exceptional attention to detail, accuracy in forecasting consumption trends, and methodical supply chain management.
  • Have proficiency in utilizing Software as a Service (SaaS) for inventory management and adeptness at recognizing product details, reorder numbers, PAR levels, and pricing.
  • Exhibit prompt action in addressing supply shortages and formulating corrective action plans, communicating effectively with department managers.
  • Conduct product negotiations, research, and evaluations, providing informed recommendations to management for purchasing decisions.
  • Coordinate product trials, conduct research on new products, and recommend alternatives for cost containment.
  • Oversee equipment repairs, evaluate inventory for obsolescence, and maintain sterile storage areas in compliance with safety standards.
  • Delegate tasks effectively and ensure adherence to organizational protocols in restocking activities.

Additional Technical Competency Details:

  • Possess abilities to read and interpret technical written information, instructions for use, and apply accordingly.
  • Methodically apply rational thought to practices that ensure an environment of safety and security for business assets.
  • Consistently apply hand hygiene practices to reduce cross-contamination.
  • Protect patient privacy and understand and apply privacy and security of HIPAA regulations related to PHI and ePHI.

  • Associate degree in Supply Chain Management, required.
  • Baccalaureate degree in Supply Chain Business Management, desired and/or Business Administration, desired.
  • Certification in Supply Chain Management, desired.
  • 3 – 5 years prior experience in supply chain management, required.
