As a Quality Manager with Spartronics, you will be responsible for developing a world class quality department and driving plant wide continuous improvement that results in industry leading quality performance. You will have the opportunity to reinforce and implement foundational quality principals, as we develop innovative manufacturing and inspection processes to build high quality circuit board assemblies and electromechanical devices. This position will be responsible for managing, coordinating and administering all functions of the site’s Quality Management System, including receiving inspection, quality engineering, supplier quality management, in-process and final inspection, functional and final test.
What a Day Looks Like
  • Lead, train and mentor the QA Department/Team
  • Drive a Quality First focus throughout the plant.
  • Expediently and effectively communicate with customers on quality escapes, RCCA’s, CAR’s, site visits, escalations, etc.
  • Maintain and improve the site QMS (including NCR and CAPA system, internal and external audits, training, etc.)
  • Responsible for ensuring effective quality planning (including PFMEAs, process flows and control plans) for NPI and production parts.
  • Maintain site QMS compliance with AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015, by coordinating and passing site certification audits.
  • Maintain ITAR, IPC-A-610 Class III, IPC-A-620, IPC-7711/7721, J-STD-001 and NIST800-171 compliance.
  • Develop sources of data to accurately track and report key Quality-related performance indicators (KPIs), including first pass yield, scrap rates and statistical process control.
  • Manage and improve supplier quality.
  • Be an advocate for lean and six sigma manufacturing principles and drive continuous improvement initiatives and actions.
  • Drive cross functional projects and initiatives with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering to improve processes, capabilities and controls.
  • Address process yields by driving cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions utilizing a methodical approach, such as DMAIC to root cause and drive continuous improvement.
Requirements
  • All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • Must be able to work onsite (this is not a remote or hybrid role).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, Automotive, Industrial or Mfg Engineering is preferred, or an equivalent combination of education, training, or experience.
  • 5 years of Quality Engineering or Management experience in a regulated manufacturing environment, aerospace and defense industry is preferred.
  • Contract Manufacturing experience is preferred, circuit card assembly and printed circuit board experience is a plus.
  • 5 years of direct people management.
  • In-Depth working knowledge of AS9100D and ISO 9001:2015 standards with demonstrated success in passing certification audits.
  • Working knowledge of IPC-A-610, IPCA-620 and IPC-A-600, J-STD-0011, NIST 800-171
  • Demonstrated experience working directly with customers to resolve concerns, conduct audits and host visits.
  • Expert level knowledge of root cause analysis techniques and corrective action.
  • Knowledge of lean Six-Sigma principles (Green or Black belt certification a plus).
  • Experience working with suppliers to improve quality.
  • Knowledge and experience in the application of statistical process control.
  • Demonstrated experience leading diverse teams in a dynamic manufacturing environment required.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills required.
  • Self-motivated leader with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve, as well manage multiple tasks and projects and concisely explain complex issues supported with data.
  • Excellent analytical abilities and comprehensive understanding of quality toolbox (SPC, 8D, FMEA, Control Plans, etc.)
