Duties
- Handle cases from inception to conclusion, including conducting legal research and analysis on various topics.
- Draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and contracts, throughout all stages of litigation.
- Manage cases and prepare for hearings and trials, ensuring thorough case preparation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, and other parties.
- Participate actively in negotiations and settlement discussions.
- Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and appeals.
- Stay updated on changes in laws and regulations relevant to the practice area to provide informed legal counsel.
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
- Admission to the NYS bar.
- Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience.
-Proficiency in the CPLR.
- Strong research and analytical skills, with the ability to apply legal principles to complex issues.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in legal administrative tasks, including document management and case organization.
- Experience with legal drafting, including pleadings, motions, and memoranda, demonstrating precision and clarity.
- Familiarity with legal research tools, such as Westlaw and Lexis-Nexis, to support thorough legal analysis.
- Ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients.
- Demonstrated litigation experience, with a strong understanding of court procedures and rules.
