Development Operations Specialist

The Brookline Center is on a mission to transform mental healthcare access, and we're looking for a detail-oriented, system-savvy early-career professional to join our dynamic development and communications team. If you're a go-getter looking to make a real impact, this could be the perfect opportunity for you.

In this key role, you'll collaborate closely with our Director of Individual Giving and other staff to create and optimize systems that streamline our development efforts and keep everything running smoothly. You'll dive deep into data, craft compelling reports to inform our fundraising strategies, and be the master of our donor database, ensuring everything is accurate and up to date.

As our resident grant guru, you'll manage deadlines, contribute to proposals and reports, and showcase our impact. You'll also process gifts, craft heartfelt acknowledgments, and be the friendly face of donor relations. When you're not busy being a data whiz, you'll put your detective skills to work, uncovering new funding opportunities and donor leads, and helping plan and execute incredible events and campaigns that engage and inspire our supporters.

Additional key responsibilities include:

  • Oversee and manage online giving platforms and campaigns
  • Provide support for major gifts work, including scheduling, preparing briefings, and coordinating stewardship
  • Support event planning and production, including budget tracking and management, and ensuring timely event communication
  • Take on additional project assignments as needed to support the development team's goals
  • Assist in the coordination and submission of grant applications and reports
  • Serve as the primary liaison between development and finance

Who You Are

  • High emotional intelligence and superb interpersonal skills, able to build genuine relationships
  • Meticulous with an eagle eye for detail and a knack for bringing order to unwieldy projects and busy physical spaces
  • Proactive and self-directed, taking initiative, solving problems, and meeting deadlines independently
  • Digital native and Excel whiz; database and CRM experience preferred
  • Strong communicator who can craft clear, compelling content
  • Flexible team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment where you can take charge of projects and tackle challenges that come your way
  • Passionate about mental health
  • Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years’ work experience (including internships and summer jobs), ideally in a nonprofit or fundraising setting
