GZA GEOENVIRONMENTAL INC is Hiring an Environmental Specialist Near Brook, IL

Huff & Huff, Inc. a subsidiary of GZA (H&H/GZA) is currently seeking Environmental Specialist from two to eight years’ experience to support our environmental natural resources practice. This role will be a hybrid position working on a project site in Springfield, Illinois. The successful candidates will have a solid educational background and must be self-motivated with a professional attitude.
As an Environmental Specialists, you will work with a fast-paced team of Scientists, Engineers, Project Managers, and Principals, working on primarily IDOT Roadway projects throughout the entire state. We are seeking Environmental Specialists with experience in natural resource and supporting report preparation. The qualified candidates must have experience, knowledge, or interest in the following environmental activities: Project Coordination
Processing of IDOT Environmental Survey Requests; providing liaison with district offices, local agencies, and consultants on general environmental issues; providing general environmental expertise; providing review of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documents; Threatened and Endangered species coordination.
Natural Resources
Assisting in the management of environmental surveys provided to the department by the Prairie Research Institute; providing expertise on biological and wetland issues; reviewing biological and wetland portions of environmental documents; preparing specialized environmental documents regarding biological and wetland resources;

Our success relies on this collaborative environment. You will work in a professional office setting, preparing detailed and accurate documentation, data analysis and reporting. It is anticipated that the candidate will work some days at IDOT Central Office in Springfield, Illinois. GZA emphasizes a One Company environment, and as a member of our team, you may be asked to assist on projects and tasks outside of your primary responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • BS/MS in Biology, Environmental Science, Engineering, or Natural Resources or related field
  • Knowledge of IDOT Environmental Procedures and Policies
  • Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills
  • Knowledge of GIS a plus
  • Ability to travel locally and regionally
  • A valid driver’s license in good standing
The base salary for this position may range between $70,000 and $110,000. The actual base salary and total compensation will depend on many factors, including location, bonus eligibility, candidate experience, education, professional licensure, and other qualifications.About GZA:
