A great school in the Bristol, NH area has a full-time School Nurse LPN opening for the current school year covering for a maternity leave through the remainder of the school year.

This is a 1:1 model school nursing total assist position in an elementary school working with one student in the school throughout the day. Student uses a wheelchair, g-tube, portable suction, and utilizes eye gaze assistive technology for communication. This position will involve riding the bus with the student from the home to school and back each day. Transportation time is paid.

Other Key Responsibilities of the School Nurse (LPN):

• Provides First aid treatment for students and staff.
• Trains school personnel on First Aid, CPR, and the use of the AED.
• Dispenses medication.
• Manages electronic and paper health records.
• Assumes responsibility for the referral of students in need of medical care
• Implements DoH (Department of Health) policies and protocols.

Key Requirements of the School Nurse (LPN):

• Valid or eligible to receive New Hampshire state nursing license
• First Aid and CPR certified (Instructor certification preferred)
• Must have good organizational skills coupled with good interpersonal skills, show strong attention to detail, be eager to learn new skills, have excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrate proficiency with computers. Successful candidates must also be compassionate, have ability to prioritize and multitask, and be able to maintain strict confidentiality of information.
