POSITION SUMMARY:

The Accounting Clerk will collaborate with the accounting department to handle entry-level accounting tasks. This role involves performing essential office duties related to cash receipts, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and daily sales postings for various businesses under Bay Mills Indian Community, Bay Mills Gaming Authority, and Bay Mills Business Holdings.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Compile and create statistical reports using tools such as Word, Excel, or other relevant software.
2. Perform necessary data entry into the accounting system while maintaining consistency and precision in recording financial transactions.
3. Assist in reconciling bank statements to ensure accuracy and identify and resolve discrepancies.
4. Process and record cash receipts for Bay Mills Indian Community, Bay Mills Gaming Authority, and Bay Mills Business Holdings accurately and efficiently.
5. Maintain orderly organizational files and records.
6. Adhere to established accounting processes and procedures to ensure accuracy and compliance.
7. Assist fellow accounting staff members as needed.
8. Undertake miscellaneous tasks assigned by the Controller or Assistant Controller.
9. Adapt to the scope and complexity of this position’s essential functions.
10. Attend all mandatory trainings offered through the Human Resources Department and/or Department Director.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit with occasional walking and standing. Occasionally the employee must bend, squat, crouch, balance, climb height of 2ft, reach above shoulder level, kneel, and push/pull. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. The employee must be able to use both hands for repetitive action such as firm grasping

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

1. Completion of at least two years of higher education in accounting or a business-related field required.
2. Requires a working knowledge of general office practices and generally accepted accounting principles.
3. Demonstrates strong organizational abilities, attention to detail, and excellent interpersonal skills.
4. Capable of efficiently handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
5. Exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.
6. Must have an excellent past work record, demonstrating reliability and commitment.
7. The successful candidate must be able to satisfactorily perform each function listed under the essential functions and physical demands categories outlined in the position description.
