As a billing specialist, your main role will be to insure the timely collection of payments from resident billing and charges generated from Independent Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, and our Health Center.

Responsibilities and Competencies

• Maintains daily census for independent, assisted living, memory care and health center.
• Compiles and inputs data into the computer for billing.
• Inputs data into the computer for all insurances including Medicare Part A and B claims.
• Records and prepares resident, Health Center, and miscellaneous deposits.
• Posts cash receipts.
• Generates all billing.
• Submit third party insurance claims (supplemental) after receipt of Medicare payments.
• Ensure timely collection of insurance billings.

Qualifications and skills of the successful candidate :

• Proficiency with the claims management software system.
• Experience with Medicare, and Medicare & Commercial HMO / PPO billing guidelines and rules, insurance reimbursement methods, and the claims appeal process.
• Ability to review & interpret insurance Explanation of Benefits & Electronic Remittance Advices to determine & identify reasons for claim denial, and when appropriate, appeal course of action for resolution.
• Create and maintain a positive and disciplined work environment with residents, their families, clinical staff, and management.
• Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal.
• Consistently demonstrate professional behavior
