Trailblazer Counselor Camp Piomingo

POSITION PREFERENCES & FUNCTIONS :

• Preferred Age : 21
• Previous backpacking experience preferred
• Hold or have the ability to obtain a lifeguarding certification
• Hold or have the ability to obtain a Wilderness First Aid certification
• Assist in planning routes, travel, and menu
• Inspect equipment before / after each trip
• Safely transport campers to / from campsite and trails
• Team player with personal commitment to YMCA Mission, Philosophy & Character Development Values
• Ensure the emotional, mental, and physical safety of all participants
• Complete required paperwork in timely manner
• Work in tandem with other camp staff to create a safe and welcoming experience for all
• Effectively manage camper behavior and homesickness
• Inform leadership staff of any camper concerns
• Ability to accept guidance and supervision
• Ability to demonstrate enthusiasm, sense of humor, patience, self-control, maturity, responsibility, sound judgment, and good decision-making skills
• Be of good character, and in sympathy with the goals and objectives of YMCA Camp Piomingo
• Other duties as assigned

STATUS : Part-time; Non-exempt, Seasonal

STARTING SALARY : $450 / week (DOE)
