Project Director

General Description:

The Project Director is responsible for oversight and management of multiple projects, with a focus on safety, quality, cost controls, schedule, sub-contractors, and suppliers. Overall, as a Project Director, your role is to lead the successful execution of solar energy projects from inception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop comprehensive project plans and strategies in alignment with organizational goals and client requirements.
  • Conduct pre bid site assessments, and risk analyses to optimize project outcomes.
  • Manage all aspects of project execution, collaborate with engineering design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
  • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation to ensure timely and cost- effective project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and performance, identify potential risks or issues, and implement mitigation strategies as needed.
  • Build and lead high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, mentorship, support, excellence, and promoting professional development and growth.
  • Work in unison with Safety and Quality to establish goals and expectations for projects and processes to manage them.
  • Establish effective communication channels and foster strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, vendors, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Adapt and adjust plans as necessary to maintain schedule and budget targets.
  • Ensure adherence to quality standards, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements throughout the project's lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance project efficiency, productivity, and performance.
  • Prepare regular financial reports, reoccurring status meetings and forecasts for senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance teams to facilitate a smooth transition from construction to operation.
  • Conduct final inspections and documentation to verify project completion and compliance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Advanced degree preferred.
  • Proven experience in project management, engineering, and construction, with a focus on solar energy projects.
  • Strong technical expertise in solar PV systems, including design, installation, and operation.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency in project management tools and software, Procore.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., PMP, PE, LEED AP) preferred.
  • Commissioning of Substations.
